Retired Major General & Professor Ramesh Chandra Padhi has a wealth of experience in various international and defense projects, including those funded by the World Bank. As the Principal Investigator for the Geospatial Intelligence Mission (GIM) project, he developed GIS-based geo-intelligence products for the Indian Army using high-resolution satellite imagery. He also oversaw the Integrated Coastal Zone Mapping (ICZM) project, which involved mapping the coastal hazard line along the mainland coast of India.
Retired Major General & Professor Ramesh Chandra Padhi played a significant role in conceptualizing the ongoing National Hydrology Project (NHP), aiming to deliver digital terrain models and ground databases for the entire country.
Additionally, he coordinated the establishment of a GPS control network across India and served as the coordinator for the National Geospatial Data Registry (NDR) and National GIS project. He facilitated bilateral cooperation between India and Thailand in mapping and geospatial technology through the India-Thailand Geospatial Cooperation Project.
Retired Major, General & Professor Ramesh Chandra Padhi has also gained experience working in Russia, Israel, and Thailand on various GIS-related projects. He is a member of several professional associations and has published numerous papers and technical documents on mapping and geospatial technology.
